This Month's Nerd Roast: Rwanda Maraba
Hi everyone,
We're starting to see the last gasps of summer here in Texas. Summer isn't letting go easily, but it's so good to have a bit of a break. Fall is my favorite time of year. This month, we have a Rwanda bean, which we haven't done before. It's an interesting taste, and a bit more assertive than last month's Honduran bean. ☕ Origin This month’s coffee comes from the Maraba Co-op in Rwanda’s Huye district. High altitudes and volcanic soil make this one of Rwanda’s best coffee-growing areas. The co-op has been producing specialty coffee for more than twenty years and helped establish Rwanda’s reputation for high-quality beans.🌱 Processing The beans are washed and sun-dried, a method that highlights clarity in the cup and lets the fruit character shine. 👅 Tasting Notes Expect bright citrus and red fruit notes, with a hint of floral sweetness. The cup has a silky body and a smooth finish that lingers pleasantly. 🔥 Roast We’ve taken these to a medium roast, as with previous months. This level balances the lively acidity with gentle sweetness and fuller body, making it a versatile everyday cup.
Thanks for being part of this small community and for sharing in the roast each month. I hope you enjoy the Rwanda Maraba as much as I enjoyed preparing it.
